We are very proud to have brought home two Greek Excellence Awards this year. Our amazing house Mother Diann Veith was the recipient of the House Director of the Year Award, and Graduate Lucas Renz was the recipient of the Greek Man of the Year award. We are very proud and grateful for these two and all the work they do for Greek Life here at Kansas State.
This February, we celebrated our chapter's 100th anniversary. We hosted a celebration at the Hilton Garden Inn and were joined by over 100 alumni. This was a great event and we deeply enjoyed sharing stories between present and previous member of SigEp. Heres to another hundred years!
This year Sig Ep and Phi Delt hosted a Halloween Rave at The Hat. Best costume award goes to Sophomore Trey Pitman (pictured as Frozone)!
We had another successful Dad's Weekend this year! Activities included playing golf and watching K-State Football at Kite's Bar and Grill.
Brothers Ryan Rysavy and Cole McEntee traveled to Orlando this August to attend SigEp Conclave. There they voted on legislation and resolutions that would shape the future of SigEp. Thanks to these two for giving up part of their summer to help our chapter progress.
Brother Maxwell Kuhn had the privilege of attending Ruck Leadership Institute in Richmond, Virginia during the summer of 2016. He developed leadership skills that he was able to implement over the year to help better our chapter. Thanks to Max for representing the Kansas Beta Chapter in a positive way!
At this year's Fraternal Excellence Awards, Brother Lucas Renz was announced as the 2016 Greek Man of the Year. We are incredibly proud of all the work Lucas continues to do for Greek Life here at Kansas State.
Congratulations to Brother Lucas Renz and Brother Carson Lilley, who were newly elected to the IFC Board of Directors. Brother Renz will serve a term as IFC President, and Brother Lilley will serve as Director of Community and Internal Relations
Tyler Struckhoff, former President (2014-2015), was recognized by K-State Fraternity and Sorority life as the 2015 Outstanding Chapter President. Although Tyler could not attend the Fraternal Excellence Awards, a number of members represented him at the event. His efforts did not go unnoticed, as he balanced his academics along with running a chapter and setting a new tone for this Fraternity moving forward. His passion and persistence to improve the Kansas Beta chapter made a positive impact on not only members, but alumni and parents as well.
This winter the SigEp basketball team reclaimed the crown as Intramural Basketball champions of the Fraternity League. The impressive post season run included wins over Farmhouse, top seeded Beta, and Phi Delt. We finished the season on a 7 game win streak, which was completed with a 53-41 victory over Delta Sig in the championship game.
SigEp, Beta Sig, and Theta were crowned as the 2016 Greek Week Champions this February. A great deal of time and hard work was put in between the three houses during this week.
This is the second year in a row the Kansas Beta Chapter was crowned Greek Week Champions.
Balanced Man Scholarship:
Each year, SigEp gives away $1,000 in scholarships. Our Balanced Man scholarship recognizes two incoming freshman for displaying the traits of a SigEp balanced man in high school. This includes grades, involvement, athletics and other aspects that SigEp's thrive in.
